Basic Setup Guide
Pristine Internet Gateway — Customer Guide
This guide walks you through setting up your Pristine Internet Gateway for the first time. Setup takes just a few minutes and requires no technical experience.
What's in the Box
• Pristine Internet Gateway
• Power adapter
• Ethernet cable
• Setup guide
Before You Start
Your Wi-Fi network name and password are printed on the label on the back of your Gateway. You will need these to connect your devices once the Gateway is up and running. The label also shows a QR code you can scan with your phone to connect automatically.
Step-by-Step Setup
|
1 |
Choose a good location. Place your Gateway in an open area near a window, on an elevated surface such as a shelf or desk. Avoid enclosed spaces, basements, and areas near metal objects or other electronics. See Guide 1 — Understanding Your Gateway for full placement tips. |
|
2 |
Plug in the power adapter. Connect the power adapter to the port marked DC on the back of the Gateway, then plug the other end into a power outlet. |
Plug the power adapter into the DC port on the back. Ethernet devices connect to the LAN ports.
|
3 |
Wait for the Gateway to power up. The LED on the front will begin soft blinking white while the device boots. This process takes 2–3 minutes. Do not unplug the device during this time. |
|
4 |
Look for a solid white light. Once the LED shows a solid white light, your Gateway is connected to the network and ready to use. |
|
💡 Solid red light but internet is working? A recent firmware update can cause some Gateways to show a solid red light even when fully connected. If your devices can access the internet, press and hold the WPS button on the back for 5 seconds to restore the LED to solid white. If the internet is genuinely not working, see Guide 6 — Troubleshooting No Internet. |
|
5 |
Connect your devices to Wi-Fi. On your phone, tablet, or computer, open Wi-Fi settings and look for the network name printed on the label on the back of your Gateway. Select it and enter the password from the same label. |
|
6 |
Test your connection. Open a browser or app that requires internet and confirm everything is working. That's it — you're online! |
|
💡 Quick connect: Most Gateway labels include a QR code — scan it with your phone's camera to connect automatically without typing the password. |
Connecting with an Ethernet Cable
For a faster and more stable connection on devices like desktop computers or smart TVs, plug one end of the included Ethernet cable into any of the LAN 1–4 ports on the back of the Gateway and the other end into your device. No password needed for wired connections.
|
⚠️ Important — WAN port: The back of the Gateway also has a port labeled WAN. Do not plug your computer or other devices into this port. The WAN (Wide Area Network) port is an input port — it is used to send a signal into the Gateway from an external source, not to connect devices to the internet. Plugging a device into the WAN port will not give it internet access and may interfere with your Gateway's connection. Always use the ports labeled LAN 1 through LAN 4 for connecting your devices. |
Important Note — Fire Stick & Roku Devices
If you are setting up an Amazon Fire Stick or Roku streaming device at the same time as your Gateway, power off and unplug the streaming device first before powering on the Gateway. Once the Gateway has fully powered on and is showing a solid white light, you can then plug in and power on your Fire Stick or Roku. This prevents the streaming device from interfering with the Gateway's initial connection process.
If You Don't Get a Solid White Light
If the LED does not turn solid white after 3–5 minutes:
• Make sure the power adapter is firmly connected to both the Gateway and the wall outlet
• Check that the outlet is working by plugging in another device
• Try unplugging the Gateway, waiting 30 seconds to 1 minute, and plugging it back in
• If the light is solid red or blinking red, see Guide 6 — Troubleshooting No Internet or contact Pristine Internet support
