How to Check or Change Your APN

Pristine Internet Gateway — Customer Guide

The APN (Access Point Name) is the setting that authorizes your Gateway to access the cellular network and connect to the internet. If it is missing or incorrect, your Gateway will not be able to get online even if it has a strong signal. This guide shows you how to find and update it.

Before You Start

Contact Pristine Internet support before making changes so we can confirm the correct APN for your service plan. Call us at 1-877-877-7716 and a support representative will provide the correct APN and assist you through the steps if needed.

Pristine Internet uses the following APNs depending on your service plan:

APN

Plan Type

v5ga01internet

Dynamic (most common)

vzwinternet

Dynamic

so01.vzwstatic

Static IP

If you are unsure which APN applies to your account, contact support and we can confirm it for you.

💡  Note: In most cases, the Gateway will automatically set the correct APN on its own. You should only need to verify or update this setting if the device has no service and cannot get online.

Do not adjust the APN to try to fix speed issues or buffering — changing the APN will not improve performance and can actually cause more problems with your connection.

💡  Note: You do not need an active internet connection to access the admin panel. You only need to be connected to your Gateway's Wi-Fi or Ethernet — the admin panel is available even when the device has no internet service.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Log in to your admin panel.

Connect to your Gateway Wi-Fi or Ethernet, open a browser, go to 192.168.0.1, and log in with your Admin Password from the label on the back of the device.

2

Click the "Advanced" tab.

At the top of the main screen, click the Advanced tab to access advanced network settings.

3

Open Network Settings → Network Connections.

In the left-hand menu under Network Settings, click Network Connections.

On the Network Connections page, find Broadband Connection (Cellular) — it is usually at the bottom of the list — and click the Edit link next to it.

6

Check or update the Internet APN.

On the Settings page, locate the Internet APN field. Compare what is shown against the APN confirmed by Pristine Internet support.

•  If the field is blank — type in the correct APN for your plan.

•  If the field shows an incorrect APN — delete the existing entry and type the correct one.

•  If the APN shown matches your plan's APN — no changes are needed.

⚠️  Important: Do not change any other fields on this screen unless directed by a Pristine Internet support representative.

7

Click "Apply" to save.

Once the correct APN is entered, click the Apply button. Wait a few minutes for the settings to take effect.

8

Test your connection.

Open a browser and try loading a webpage. If the internet is working, you're all set.

9

If still not connecting — reboot your Gateway.

If the internet is still not working after applying the new APN, unplug the Gateway from power, wait 30 seconds to 1 minute, then plug it back in. Wait 3–5 minutes for the device to fully reconnect and try again.

Why Is the APN Important?

Even with a strong signal, a missing or incorrect APN will prevent the Gateway from accessing the internet. This is one of the most common causes of a "no internet" situation on a device that otherwise appears to be working — solid signal, SIM card installed, but no connection.

If you have recently had a plan change or your service has been updated, the APN may need to be verified or updated. Always contact Pristine Internet support to confirm the correct APN before making changes.
