Katalyst Spark APN Check/Change
To check or change the APN service needed to gain internet connection please follow the steps below.
**Be advised that you will need to contact our customer service team for the APN needed for your service. Every carrier and network has a specialized APN needed to access the internet. If you already know your APN please proceed with the steps listed below but if you need assistance please call a customer support representative at 877-877-7716 and they can provide the correct APN for your service and asset you with the steps listed below.
- Login to the modems internal settings (Graphic User Interface or GUI) by connecting to the modems wireless network
- An internet connection is not necessary for this step. The device you are using to enter the modems GUI needs to be connected to the modem in order to change the internal settings
- After you are confirmed connected to the modem (Wi-Fi or ethernet) open a web browser page such as Google, Safari, Edge or a browser of your preference
- Once the web Browser is opened enter the IP address of the modem into the address/URL bar - 192.168.8.1
- The screen below will pop up and requires a user name and password. User name is root and the password is the last 8 digits of the serial number or the Key (located on the sticker on the modem)
- After you enter the information required click Login. This will take you to the GUI.
- On the next screen look for the Manual Setup button
- Click on Manual Setup to open the next screen
- Check the APN listed in the circled box and ensure it is the same as the APN service you received from our customer support team
- If you need to change the APN just delete the current APN listed and type in the correct APN. Do not change any other information unless directed by our staff.
- Once you have entered or verified that the APN is correct click Apply. The modem will take a few minutes to apply the settings, please be patient and wait for it to complete.
- If you are still having trouble accessing the internet try to perform a reboot of the modem to ensure that the settings are applied.
